About the Job

QCD is currently searching for a Human Resources Supervisor in our Miami Florida distribution center. The HR Supervisor reports to the Regional Human Resources Manager for our Central region. They will work closely with the General Manager at the DC. The HR Supervisor is the chief People and Culture representative in Miami and is integral in the hiring and retention of quality associates.

The responsibilities include supervising the day-to-day administration of human resources functions, record keeping, and special projects and ensures compliance with QCD and GSF, federal and state labor policies and procedures. You will be an integral part of our operations to ensure strong employee relations and ensuring strong onboarding and retention policies and initiatives are working.

This distribution center has approximately 110 employees and it is a non-union location.

What You'll Do

  • Provides information and counseling to employees, including new employee orientation, benefits counseling, drug/alcohol testing, sexual harassment policies, company policies, payroll, etc. Posts federal and state rules and regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOT, etc.). In union facilities, assists in handling grievance issues. (45%)
  • Supervises and coordinates the administration of human resources functions, including supervision of clerical support staff. (15%)
  • Directs the maintenance of human resources materials, including personnel files, new hire forms, manuals, and other documents to ensure that files are current, confidential, complete, and in compliance with company and government regulations and deadlines. (15%)
  • Disseminates human resources policies, procedures, and programs to ensure that all employees are well informed and work in compliance with policies and regulations. (5%)
  • Provides guidance to managers and supervisors regarding implementation of human resources policies and procedures to ensure appropriate and fair human resources practices. (5%)
  • Recruits and selects hourly and salaried employees by preparing and placing classified job advertisements, screening applications, testing and interviewing applicants, recommending applicants, and making job offers. (15%)
  • Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.

Supervises up to two clerical and human resources staff.

What You'll Need

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to:

Education/Certification
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field from an accredited college or university

Experience
3 to 6 years of work experience in general human resources, including supervisory experience

Bilingual: English / Spanish
