We’re searching for a Human Resources Specialist to join our team. The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for organizing various parts of the employee life cycle from the moment the employee signs an offer letter through their termination. These responsibilities include administering all benefit programs, developing and usage of the Firm’s HRIS, human resources analytics, and general assistance for all employees. This is a full-time onsite position (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time Zone), and the selected candidate can work out of our Gainesville, Daytona Beach or Tallahassee, Florida office.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws, including FMLA, ADA, and state and local laws, including multi-state rules for remote employees.
  • Process and administer all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork.
  • Oversee and maintain optimal functions of the HRIS, including installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrades to applications, systems, and modules.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, data reports, and analytics to support data-driven decision making for senior leadership and HR staff.
  • Develop, maintain, and evaluate the organization’s compensation philosophy, structure, and salary bands to ensure internal equity, market competitiveness, and alignment with strategic business goals.
  • Ensure all HR technology and systems comply with data security and privacy requirements while understanding functionality to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Administer all functions of the Firm’s benefits program, including open enrollment, accuracy of the benefits portal and enrollments, relations with brokers, serving as point of contact for inquiries, and eligibility rules to maintain compliance with IRS rules.
  • Maintain job descriptions for active roles within the Firm, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with all regulations.
  • Aid firm compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all inquiries related to human resources and redirect to appropriate parties.
  • Reconcile and process invoices; resolve discrepancies with vendors and payroll.
  • Coordinate with other aspects of the human resources department as duties overlap.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in human resources and/or benefits administration.
  • 2+ years of HRIS experience; UKG preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Power BI experience a plus.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data modeling).
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems administration, reporting, and optimization.
  • Experience managing and administering employee benefits programs with accuracy and compliance focus.
  • Skilled in preparing and delivering presentations that clearly communicate complex data and insights.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify trends and support data-driven HR strategies.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Certified human resources professional (SHRM-CP or PHR)
  • Prior experience in public accounting or another professional services organization.
