BASIC PURPOSE & SCOPE
The HR Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the HR team. This role focuses on executing tactical tasks related to employee leave of absence processes, ADA accommodation requests, and maintaining accurate employee records. The HR Specialist ensures compliance with employment laws and regulations, handles employee inquiries, and supports various HR projects and initiatives. This position plays a crucial role in facilitating smooth HR operations and enhancing employee experience within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Administering employee leave of absence processes, including FMLA and other statutory leaves.
- Processing ADA accommodation requests, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Maintaining accurate employee records and documentation, including onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Assisting with the preparation of employee relations issues documentation.
- Handling employee inquiries and issues, providing timely and effective resolutions.
- Supporting HR compliance audits and reporting, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
- Assisting with payroll processing, including data entry and verification.
- Ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, and EEO.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
Education, Certifications, & Training:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred, or
- At least 2 years of related experience required.
- Prior experience working in Human Resources. Experience in a high-volume environment is preferred.
- Understanding of federal and state employment laws.
Skills & Background
- Proficiency in HR software and systems, such as HRIS, ATS, and payroll systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
- Detail-oriented and highly accurate, with strong data entry and record-keeping skills.
- Basic knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, and EEO.
- Experience in managing employee records and documentation, including onboarding, offboarding, and benefits administration.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
