Responsibilities

  • Assist with onboarding, offboarding, exit interviews and employee transitions to ensure a smooth and compliant experience for new joiners.
  • Maintain and update employee records related to hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions in the HRIS system with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Provide first-line support for employee inquiries (policies, procedures, benefits, programs, and employee verifications).
  • Support bi-weekly payroll timecard audits for all SMO site employees.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist in organizing training sessions, track participation, and maintain learning records.
  • Support safety documentation, maintenance of safety records/logs, and scheduling safety training; route incident reports appropriately.
  • Promote a positive work environment by supporting employee engagement, morale, and retention initiatives (e.g., engagement surveys, DEI initiatives, and internal communications).
  • Act as backup for HR Business Partner during travel or out-of-office periods as needed.
  • Contribute to other ad hoc HR projects and reporting (e.g., events and recognitions).

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and/or Business Administration is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in a Human Resources support role.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, SharePoint) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently; strong interpersonal, communication, time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with MS Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Other Details

  • Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not carry supervisory responsibility.
  • Travel: This position does not require business travel, unless prior notice by supervisor.
  • Work Environment: Office setting with standard equipment; some physical demands as listed below.

Physical Demands

The role may require handling up to 25 pounds infrequently. Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands, and reach. This is largely a sedentary role with some filing; ability to lift boxes and files and bend as needed.
