Located in Warren, Rhode Island, MagSeal has provided innovative and custom sealing solutions to the aerospace industry for over 70 years. MagSeal has an opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This position will be onsite in Warren, Rhode Island.

Overview

The Human Resources Generalist provides support in areas such as recruiting, benefits administration, employee relations, training, development, orientation, data administration and documentation, talent management, HR compliance, and other related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Internal Communication and Collaboration: support and promote core values, drive strong employee relations through clear communications, and build relationships with cross-functional teams (Operations, SC, Finance, Quality and Engineering).
  • Policy, Procedure and Process Administration: interpret and provide guidance regarding federal, state, and local employment laws/policies; ensure compliance with HR regulatory requirements; respond to routine HR questions and employee relation issues.
  • Benefit Administration: administer benefits within policy and regulatory compliance; assist with inquiries, online enrollment, claims resolution, documentation collection, invoicing, payroll adjustments, and communicate benefit information; support wellness programs.
  • Unemployment, Leave and Employment Exit Administration: respond to inquiries from third-party vendors; administer off-boarding activities including exit interviews and collection of company property.
  • Systems Support and Administration: assist employees with HR systems (Self-Service Portal, Talent Management); manage HRIS data, run reports, perform audits, and ensure data integrity.
  • Safety & Worker’s Compensation: support safety initiatives and administer workers’ compensation process.
  • Recruiting and On-Boarding: post job openings, review resumes, schedule and conduct interviews, manage applicant tracking, coordinate onboarding and pre-employment screenings.
  • Employee Engagement and Recognition: support engagement strategies and coordinate company-sponsored events and community engagement activities.
  • Talent Development and Performance Management: coordinate training initiatives and annual goal and appraisal processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: participate in HR-related organizations and improvement initiatives to drive performance and standard work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college in business or a related area.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in the HR field or a related area; manufacturing environment preferred.
  • PHR certification preferred.

Skills & Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen or a US permanent resident.
  • Local to the Rhode Island facility.
  • Familiar with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures and able to rely on experience and knowledge to perform the functions of the job.
  • Knowledge of employment law, recruiting practices, benefits, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and related industry trends and statutes.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills; excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office; able to learn internal programs as necessary.
  • Experience with HRIS software and systems, preferably ADP.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment.
  • Ability to learn basic manufacturing processes within the facility and deliver training to employees.
  • Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to build trust and act as an employee advocate.

Work Environment

  • Office environment and light manufacturing environment; typical mix is 60% office, 40% manufacturing.
  • Ability to wear PPE as required; ability to travel as necessary; ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to handle stress and to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $45,000 - $62,000. Salaries are based upon candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications and business considerations.
