Overview
Business Analyst role at First PREMIER Bank/PREMIER Bankcard – onsite in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This position is onsite at our Sioux Falls, SD office and does not allow for hybrid work arrangement or telecommuting, though occasional approved work from home is acceptable.
Responsibilities
- Understand the data and the business well enough to formulate questions, analyze and deliver insights to business executives on possible changes to business operations, products, or services.
- Seek out business opportunities using data and provide recommendations to management.
- Identify and/or develop advanced analytical techniques that enable the business to respond proactively to shifts in market dynamics.
- Utilize Cloud data environment leveraging tools such as Snowflake, Tidal and DBeaver.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis using statistical approaches to solve analytics problems.
- Leverage advanced mathematics, programming, and tools (such as statistical modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence) to perform large-scale analysis.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the progress and impact of strategic initiatives.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate strategic insights and performance metrics to senior leadership.
- Monitor key risk metrics, trends, and portfolio performance indicators.
- Identify emerging credit risks and provide recommendations for risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
- At least a Bachelor’s or higher degree in Applied Statistics, Analytics, Data Science or a related field and two years of experience as a research, business or data analyst.
- Power BI or equivalent (Tableau, Qlik Sense), SQL and/or SAS or equivalent (Python, R).
- Ability to communicate complex analytical findings into consumable, action-driven business insights.
- Demonstrable industry experience or coursework in performing large-scale analysis leveraging advanced mathematics, programming, and tools such as statistical modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
