Location: Advanced Dentistry of South Florida – Delray Beach, FL

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (Full-Time)

Key Responsibilities

  • Chairside clinical support: assist the doctor in a full range of general and specialty procedures (e.g., crown and bridge, cosmetic restorations, implant surgeries, and complex restorative cases). Step in seamlessly during procedures, anticipate needs, and provide calm, steady support.
  • Capture detailed digital impressions and diagnostic records that meet clinical standards and visual expectations.
  • Take digital X-rays, intraoral photos, and scans using software systems and other digital tools.
  • Handle attachments and post-op protocols efficiently and accurately.
  • Serve as a trusted extension of the provider, carrying the room when the doctor steps out and ensuring patients feel engaged, cared for, and at ease.
  • Operatory management and sterilization; follow OSHA and infection control protocols; keep workflows proactive and efficient.
  • Set up and break down rooms between patients; assist with attachments, bonding, curing, and finishing techniques as needed.
  • Ensure every room reflects the practice\'s high-end, luxury standards.
  • Sterilize instruments according to protocol and track usage.

Communication & Patient Experience

  • Deliver a warm, upbeat, and professional chairside presence that reflects the luxury, trust, and care expected from a high-end practice.
  • Make patients feel seen, safe, and informed about their treatment and wellness journey.
  • Bridge the gap between provider and patient by translating clinical information into easy-to-understand guidance while reinforcing treatment recommendations.
  • Maintain smooth treatment flow by staying ahead of potential delays or miscommunication, creating a calm, confident atmosphere during schedule changes or adjustments.

Administrative & Technical Skills

  • Document clinical notes, post-ops, and changes in Dentrix accurately.
  • Track and reorder supplies in collaboration with the TC and clinical lead.
  • Support lab case follow-up and coordination.
  • Use intraoral scanning and diagnostic tools to support doctors during consultations.

Qualifications

  • Required: 2+ years of experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental practice.
  • Proficiency with iTero, Dentrix, and digital charting.
  • Experience in crown and bridge, fillings, and cosmetic dentistry.
  • Understanding of sterilization protocols and OSHA standards.
  • Preferred: Experience in a high-end or multi-specialty office; willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new systems.
  • Must-Have Traits: Fast, efficient, confident; great chairside manner; high level of clinical pride and a perfectionist’s eye for detail; ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
  • Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
  • Assist with emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supplies, and emergency telephone directory.

Education & Certifications

  • Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program, or
  • Six months on-the-job experience with supporting documentation, plus X-ray certification; nitrous oxide certification is highly recommended; high school diploma or equivalent.

Dental Assistants are expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
