Reports To: Director of Transportation and Operations

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Licensed to repair heavy vehicles
• Good oral and written communication skills
• CDL

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates' or Bachelor’s degree
• Additional certifications

Responsibilities

• Assist bus drivers and other school employees in determining mechanical problems with their buses or school vehicles, and provide drivers with their write-ups regarding these mechanical conditions to ensure that the mechanic working on the equipment will have full instructions as to what repairs are needed.
• Continually evaluate the preventative maintenance program and recommend improvements to the transportation supervisor.
• Recommend parts to be ordered to the transportation supervisor and maintain inventory control.
• Maintain good housekeeping within the vehicle garage area.
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the transportation supervisor.
