About the Role

Home Care Contractors LLC is a growing residential construction and remodeling company seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper. In this role, you will oversee the daily financial operations of our business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency across all projects. Your work will play a critical role in supporting our project teams with financial clarity while maintaining the integrity of our financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage financial records including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments

• Perform general ledger entries, monthly reporting, and bank reconciliations

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Process payroll and maintain employee financial records

• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly financial reports

• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and government regulations

• Assist in budget planning and financial forecasting

• Prepare and file taxes

• Oversee contract billing and project-level financial tracking

• Collaborate with project managers and procurement teams to support financial transparency

• Manage financial reporting for city, state, and federal contracts

• Coordinate with external auditors during audits

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not required)

• Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in the construction industry

• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or other accounting/ERP systems

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations

• High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the Office Suite

• Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with construction project management workflows

• Knowledge of cost accounting and job costing methods
