Cadence is offering a 16-week paid returnship program for qualified applicants seeking to re-enter the workforce as an Application Engineer after a caregiving career break. This is not a new college graduate position. The program includes tailored training, hands-on projects, and customer interaction to jump-start skills, build connections, and support re-entry into the workforce. Participants will work with industry-leading EDA tools and collaborate with R&D and the Sales team in a dynamic environment to learn Cadence processes and problem-solving approaches.

Eligibility Apply if you are an Application Engineering professional holding a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent, who has been out of the workforce for caregiving for at least two years and has a minimum of three years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

Work closely with Sales Account Managers and technical field application engineers to support technical campaigns by delivering workshops, product demonstrations, training, and onsite support.

Demonstrate expert-level knowledge of the Cadence toolset and/or competitive tools in multiple flows including high-speed signal and/or power design; apply design knowledge for Signal, Power, and Thermal analysis for IC, package, and PCB designs.

Analyze customer environments and evaluate engineering solutions; anticipate technical issues and develop creative solutions before they arise; take technical lead on a wide range of projects.

Communicate effectively with Cadence R&D, Product Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and customers; ensure alignment with customer success criteria.

Be able to work on-site with customers without supervision.

Requirements

Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering with 5 to 10+ years of related experience.

In-depth knowledge of the EDA industry with a strong background in Signal Integrity, Power Integrity, Electromagnetics, Thermal, and RF related to Package and PCB Design.

Experience with Cadence Allegro platform tools including Sigrity, Clarity, Celsius, PCB Editor, IC Package, or equivalent tools.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present and articulate solutions to individuals and groups.
