Senior Product Manager at The Home Depot. Position Purpose: The Sr. Product Manager is responsible for assessing market needs and inspiring cross-functional product teams to find the fastest way to achieve value around those needs. The role focuses on delivering business value to drive sales, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction through the production of quality products. Within their designated enterprise product line, Sr. Product Managers work closely with teams of developers, designers, and business partners. They support in-depth business reviews, communicate and present across all levels of the organization and support cross-functional product teams. The Sr. Product Manager must be able to work at the strategic level (generating innovative ideas for growth, change management) and at the tactical level (analyzing data, solving problems, being a force multiplier and leader of their teams). The Sr. Product Manager is often responsible for products that are higher-profile and/or larger in scope. Req156511 Key Responsibilities 50% Strategy & Planning Empathize with end users and translate insights into the fastest path to value Translate business goals and end user needs into product strategy; communicate direction and priorities to development teams and partners Define goals, metrics and analytics to measure product value; refine the backlog based on learnings Manage and groom the product backlog; make decisions based on value delivered Partner with Finance to understand financial needs and assist in business planning for new opportunities Monitor research and competitive landscape to recommend best-in-class solutions Balance user needs with business goals of driving sales, efficiency, and customer satisfaction 20% Delivery & Execution Formulate and test hypotheses through user research and testing Ensure quality and change control standards are met Create, prioritize and accept user stories; integrate into release planning Make product decisions that drive value daily Evaluate features for pros, cons, risks and value Participate in standups, planning, demos and retrospectives Explain complex technical concepts in non-technical language for stakeholders 30% People Foster collaboration with Engineering and UX to drive value and remove impediments Advocate for modern software development practices Empathize with end users and stakeholders to understand needs Coordinate progress, lessons learned, and next steps with the product team Manage cross-functional expectations and educate requestors to prioritize based on benefits and user experience Guide junior team members in strategy and execution Participate in learning activities around modern software design and development practices Participate in talent acquisition, development and retention activities Direct Manager/Direct Reports Typically reports to the Product Management Manager or Sr. Manager. Travel Requirements Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. Physical Requirements Most of the time is spent sitting; occasional movement or lifting light articles may be required. Working Conditions Located in a comfortable indoor area; unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
