Martin/Martin, Inc. is looking for an experienced structural engineer to join our San Francisco-Larkspur, California office. This engineer will have the opportunity for structural design on both local and national projects in markets such as healthcare, commercial, office, sports, entertainment, education, and residential.

Lastly, our investigative engineers are pivotal in supporting ongoing projects by planning and implementing repairs, renovations, and improvements for buildings and sites. With nine office locations and a staff of 370, Martin/Martin engineers regularly perform work across the United States and internationally.
This position plans, budgets, schedules, manages, and designs projects from start of design through end of construction. These projects will typically be larger and/or more complex, taking advantage of his/her skills and experience. Involved in the firm's marketing effort to cultivate existing and develop future clients. Developing advanced technical skills in specific areas. Duties vary based on discipline listed in title.
EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in conceptual design
Prepares or assists in fee determination and proposal preparation
Leads project initiation, management, and closeout processes
Establishes and follows a QA/QC plan for each project
Mentors direct reports and assists in their career development
Attends project meetings and represents company during design and construction
Participates in billing and collection efforts
Other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES
This position is primarily technical in nature and requires working inside and outside the office to complete a wide range of activities. The following abilities are required:
Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites
Remain stationary for long periods of time
Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse
Carry, ascend, and descend a ladder
Identify color
Read, communicate, and document in English
Determine and exchange accurate information
Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Investigative: Position self in atypical environments and small, confined spaces
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture from an ABET accredited engineering/architecture curriculum
Civil: Completed a minimum of 3 years as a Project Engineer
Structural and Investigative: Completed a minimum of 2 years as a Project Engineer/Architect and 9 years progressive engineering/architectural experience (MSCE/MSAE or MS Arch counts as 1 year. Passing the 16-hour SE exam also counts as 1 year)
Demonstrates leadership abilities beneficial to the company’s future

Has designed numerous projects and followed them through from start of design to end of construction
