You read that correctly Our client is seeking a
Senior Accounting Manager
to oversee day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for private equity, venture capital, real estate, and infrastructure fund partnerships. You'll lead a team of accountants and coordinate with fund administrators, treasury, and investment operations teams to ensure accurate reporting, audit readiness, and investor communication.
Key Responsibilities
Fund Oversight: Manage a portfolio of private investment funds, reviewing accounting entries, reconciliations, capital activity, and financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
Audit & Reporting: Coordinate annual audits, review partner allocations, capital account statements, and investor reports.
Investor Support: Calculate and distribute capital calls, distributions, and performance metrics; respond to investor and GP inquiries.
Fee & Waterfall Calculations: Interpret partnership agreements to calculate management fees, carried interest, and distribution waterfalls.
Treasury Management: Monitor cash positions, review wire activity, and manage fund lines of credit, compliance certificates, and interest calculations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with compliance and tax teams to support K-1s, regulatory filings (ADV, Form PF, SLT), and tax analysis.
Team Leadership: Train, manage, and review work of junior accountants; drive continuous improvement across accounting processes.
Requirements
Bachelor's in Accounting; CPA or MBA preferred
5–7 years of accounting experience with private equity, fund of funds, or real estate investments
Strong knowledge of Investment Company Accounting, ASC 820, and FIN 48
Prior experience with SEC-registered investment advisors a plus
Proven leadership in team management and reviewing financial workstreams
Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
