YMCA
Under the general direction of the Childcare Director. Assists with the overall planning and operating of the YMCA Childcare program in accordance with the YMCA goals, curriculum, and principles of developmentally appropriate practice. This includes program delivery, staffing, community relationships, and financial management.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Must have the competencies, skills, and proven leadership ability to successfully carry out the association's mission, goals, and visions for serving the community. The Childcare Specialist Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
· Assists with program delivery to support YMCA objectives.
· Maintains staff schedule; assist Director with training and evaluation.
· Assure compliance with federal, state and local regulations as they relate to program areas and ensure that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
· Maintain positive working relationships with many diverse people, including teachers, parents, volunteers, SJSD and state licensing regulators.
· Organize or participate in Y activities, such as committees, special events and fundraising.
· Create and schedule program activities or events; maintain program records and files.
· Create snack menus and purchase accordingly.
· Assist with regular staff meetings.
· Monitor licensing requirements for each site.
· Purchase needed supplies for childcare sites.
· Assist with the review and filing of CACFP claims.
· Monitor food program.
· Track weekly childcare enrollment.
· Assist with CACFP audit.
· Coach and supervise childcare staff.
· Assist with youth files, registration packets and enrollments.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Required:
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· Have strong communication and organizational skills and attention to detail.
· The ability to relate to children, parents and other staff members and volunteers.
· CPR/First Aid Certification.
· Complete YMCA required training & Child Abuse Prevention training.
· Pass a medical examination including TB test within 30 days of employment, as required by the DHSS.
· Fingerprinted as required by the State of Missouri.
· Attend monthly training. (12 hours required per year.)
· One to two years related experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· High level of concentration and aptitude for learning a wide variety of systems.
· Must be able to communicate respectfully and effectively with superiors, co-workers and customers.
· Ability to speak distinctly to communicate with customers and staff on the phone or in-person.
· Physically able to lift 35+ pounds, lifting of equipment and supplies.
· Must be able to participate in activities.
· Knowledge and physical ability to respond in emergency situations.
· Ability to be flexible and adjust to a changing work environment.
· Sound judgment and problem-solving skills for dealing with daily issues in a variety of situations.
EXPECTED RESULTS:
· Reach participant numbers.
· Enhance community awareness of YMCA programs
· Strategic Plan goals are achieved.
· Ensure compliance with licensing requirements at all times at childcare sites.
· Evaluations indicate excellent service.
· Ensure accurate and timely childcare billing.
