We are a Holistic healthcare medical practice, looking for an experienced Medical Assistant who is bilingual, empathetic with patients, cross trained, and a team player. The job duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Perform duties such as greeting and assisting patients in a courteous and professional manner, answer telephone and provide information as necessary, verify patient information, etc. Complete pre visit planning to support the clinical visit. Verify patient information such as, but not limited to demographics, vitals and medications; complete intake process including verifying and entering patient data into EHR. Record patient history and measure and record vital signs such as height, weight, BMI, head circumference, current medications, and patient comfort level. Administer medications as samples as directed with appropriate documentation. Perform and document medical acts as directed. Collect, perform, document, and report results of CLIA waived lab tests including, but not limited to: urine dip, pregnancy tests, finger stick blood glucose levels, finger stick HbA1c kit, fecal occult blood tests, rapid Covid, rapid influenza tests, and rapid strep tests. Collect, prepare and document specimen collection including, but not limited to: urine, stool, and sputum (blood collection typically not performed by staff). Perform clinical duties as assigned including, but not limited to: preparing patients for examinations and /or treatments, assisting provider with exams or procedures, setting up exam or procedure rooms, audiometry, visual acuity testing, ear lavage, and preparing instruments for sterilization. Dismiss patient at end of clinic visit as directed, including completing the orders documented in the orders module, tasks, and patient plan. Coordinate and manage patient care including communicating test results to patient as directed, assist with pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling of patients for clinic, hospital and other ancillary medical treatments and tests. Follow up on diagnostic test to ensure that test have been completed and documentation is completed in EHR. Perform but not limited to assist clinicians ordering labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit As assigned by providers, offer & document patient education. Prepare referral letters as directed by the provider Maintain a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas as required by guidelines As assigned, accurately and thoroughly document in EHR all interactions with patients Instrument sterilization, autoclave operation, autoclave cleaning/maintenance, and quality control. Learn and maintain any logs and documentation as assigned. Participate in orientation of new employees and attend mandatory meetings. Work as a team member, interacting with staff, patients and providers to communicate and coordinate patient care and work flow effectively. Cross training in front office and administrative duties to learn full front office support. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $ $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week Work Location: In person
