What To Expect
We're seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer to develop and deploy automated assembly and test equipment and processes for our next generation of traction inverters. In this role, you'll focus on creating efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective manufacturing processes that meet our product and production targets.
What You'll Do- Design and develop cutting-edge manufacturing equipment and processes that enable high-volume production of traction inverters
- Collaborate with design engineers to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles are applied to new product designs
- Work with equipment integrators and suppliers to design, manufacture, and install equipment for medium to high-volume production
- Apply various manufacturing techniques, such as joining methods (soldering, fastening, welding, brazing, adhesive bonding) and quality assurance methods (vision inspection, leak testing, electrical testing)
- Deploy manufacturing processes and equipment to high-volume production, including tool qualification, process documentation, and training
- Ramp processes to meet high-volume production targets (cycle time, availability, yield, quality, reliability) and drive continuous improvement
- Lead cross-functional teams to solve complex problems using data-driven decision making, collaborative leadership, and rigorous problem-solving methods
What You'll Bring- 5+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, with a track record of developing and optimizing complex assembly processes in high-volume automated production environments
- Experience creating technical specifications for automated manufacturing equipment and applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Automation (DFA) principles
- Proficiency in CAD tools, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA for designing mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling
- Strong understanding of lean and six sigma principles, with experience using tools like DMAIC, RCA, DOE, FMEA, PCA, SPC, and Kaizen
