OVERVIEW : Our client, US Fortune 250 company and a global medical technology corporation serving customers in Clinical Labs, Health care research & Pharmaceutical industry, seeks an accomplished Engineering Project Manager (Product Development – Medical Device). ** JOB TITLE: Engineering Project Manager (Product Development – Medical Device) ** LOCATION: Onsite Role | 17200 Laguna Canyon Road Irvine CA 92603 ** DURATION: 12 Months + Pay Range: $60.00/hr. – $64.00/hr. (depending upon experience) Position Summary: The Manager, Project/Program Management will be responsible for leading project and program teams through all phases of product development—including clinical evaluations, operational readiness, and commercialization—for new and improved products, accessories, and disposables. This role involves initiating, planning, budgeting, executing, documenting, and controlling programs to ensure timely commercialization of products that meet client's quality standards and business objectives KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead one or more large-scale projects/programs in compliance with client's Quality Systems and Change Control Process. Develop, manage, and adjust detailed program plans and strategies across quality assurance, risk management, communications, and staffing. Facilitate creation and approval of business cases; manage resource allocation across projects. Conduct and improve core team meetings, decision-making processes, and workflows. Provide subject matter expertise in project/program management, mentor peers. Foster a culture of urgency, accountability, and transparency within teams. Drive teams to resolve complex problems while maintaining momentum during crises or changes. Communicate program status effectively to stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Influence across all levels—downward, horizontally, and upward—within a matrix organization. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education : Bachelor's degree (business/legal/finance focus) or equivalent experience 6+ years of direct experience managing New Product Development (NPD) projects/programs of increasing complexity. Proven record of project leadership in the medical device industry, with exposure to software, firmware, thermoplastic hardware, and disposable components. Proficient understanding of medical device regulations and product development processes. Strong organizational, decision-making, and analytical skills; ability to negotiate and balance priorities. Proficiency with MS Office Suite and project management systems. Ability to work effectively within complex, matrixed organizations. Preferred: Industry experience in medical device (strongly preferred), or pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Microsoft DevOps). PMP, Agile, or Scrum certification. Master's degree in mechanical, Biomedical, Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
