Job Description Overall Responsibility: The Sanitation Lead is responsible for providing oversight of the sanitation team for the cleaning and sanitizing of food processing, packaging and warehouse areas and non-food handling areas (i.e. break rooms, locker rooms, office). Key Areas of Responsibility: Monitors, trains, and assists with Sanitation employees' daily activities.

Verifies equipment and/or chemicals are being used appropriately.

Monitors sanitation team for usage of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

Inspects, oversees, and assists with the sanitation of equipment, machinery, and rooms.

Assists with ordering sanitation supplies and coordinates placement of supply deliveries.

Completes sanitation master schedule, logs, and oversees labeling of sanitation containers.

Communicates with other departments on pre-ops, changeovers, activities, and equipment repair requests.

Plans daily and weekly crewing levels and monitors employee attendance.

Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP's) are followed and the highest standards for quality, safety, and compliance are promoted.

Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).

Coordinates with maintenance personnel and other sanitation crew the dismantling of production line and equipment in preparation for cleaning.

Disassembles and reassembles the production line and equipment as necessary for cleaning.

Cleans the floors of all debris and rinses thoroughly.

Cleans air lines and hoses that feed the lines.

Removes and replaces equipment as needed to accommodate production set-up requirements.

Sanitizes production equipment in preparation for maintenance and production set-up crews.

Assist the Sanitation supervisor with special projects as needed.

Qualifications: Minimum of two years' experience in food manufacturing or related Sanitation experience preferred.

Knowledge of position responsibilities.

Ability to communicate well at all levels and proven leadership abilities.

Knowledge of chemicals and their application preferred.

Knowledge of HACCP, GMP(s), SOP(s) and Food Safety Principles required.

Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Valid State Drivers License

Lifting Requirements: Up to 50lbs Environmental Manufacturing with average noise levels, dust levels and moving machinery in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
