Position Overview
We're looking for a
Controls Engineer
with
electrical engineering capabilities
to join our growing team. This is a
hands-on role
that spans the full lifecycle of industrial automation projects—from concept to commissioning—covering
controls programming, electrical design, and system integration
.
Because we're a small company serving many industries, you'll gain
broad exposure to robotics, PLCs, vision systems, motion control, and more

What You'll Do
Develop, implement, and debug
automation software for PLCs, robots, HMIs, machine vision, and motion systems.
Design and review
electrical systems
for automation equipment.
Create and interpret
detailed electrical schematics
and panel layouts.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate controls and electrical systems into overall designs.
Perform
on-site commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting
of automated systems.
Provide
training and technical support
for customers on delivered systems.
Assist in
component selection
and
offline simulation/code development
.
Travel approximately
10–15%
(with additional travel available if desired).
Required Skills & Experience
Associate degree in a related field or
2+ years of relevant industry experience
.
Experience
programming and debugging PLCs
(Allen-Bradley preferred; Siemens, Omron, or Beckhoff a plus).
Hands-on troubleshooting of
industrial control systems
.
Ability to
read and create electrical schematics
and wiring diagrams.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with
industrial 6-axis robotics
(Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, etc.).
Knowledge of
UL 508A
and
NEC
standards for industrial machinery.
Familiarity with
Python programming
, machine vision systems, and/or advanced motion control.
HMI design and implementation skills.
