Data Analyst Role Overview

The Data Analyst gathers user requirements for database changes, analyzes database needs, creates specifications for the ETL team to load data, participates in functional design sessions, creates and executes test scripts for database loads, and assists in the escalation/resolution of data issues. The candidate must be familiar with the Agile development lifecycle and proficient in querying databases via SQL or other tools. Key Job Functions and Qualifications

Document business requirements based on internal customer needs, maintain application interface registration, and support data attributes registration and source-to-target management (STTM). Support internal customers and resolve any data issues quickly to avoid interruptions to business processes. Understand application setup in AWS and how to test applications hosted in AWS. Communicate with internal teams to answer business questions, clarify requirements, and perform UAT. Understand how external market datamainly securities and derivatives prices, interest rates, and analyticsflows from external data vendors and partners into the company's internal systems, and how the data is transformed into XML and JSON formats for downstream systems. Communicate with existing external data vendors and partners to resolve issues in delivery, consistency, and precision, and connect internal customer demand with external vendors. Search and evaluate data sources from external vendors based on the company's business needs, and identify proper channels (e.g., SFTP, HTTPS, API) to bring that data into the company. Be familiar with how public data is provided by the Treasury, SEC, and Federal Reserve and how to acquire it. Use and modify formulas to calculate and verify analytics fed into internal systems based on market-driven security value changes. Participate with product management, treasury, or capital markets staff in valuation exercises for derivatives or other complex products, and revise models used for these valuations when needed. Support existing internally developed applications that bring in external data. Troubleshoot data issues, and assist the development and operations teams in supporting internal infrastructure, interfaces, and registrations. Skills

Expertise with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Ability to translate high-level business requirements into database and ETL requirements (source-to-target mappings) Ability to document business processes Strong SQL skills for querying databases Excellent communication skills Strong analytical skills Ability to multitask effectively Knowledge of testing tools such as Mercury Quality Center or HP Quality Center (desired) Education and Work Experience

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field Professional certification(s) desired Software development experience, with demonstrated success in projects of similar scope and complexity
