BaxterBoo Inc., an online retailer of pet supplies based in Vernon Hills, IL, is looking to recruit a corporate buyer to support the procurement of pet food and other pet related consumables. The ideal candidate must have at least 3-5 years of procurement experience in similar roles. Pet industry background is preferred but not required. The position is based in Vernon Hills, IL. Responsibilities
Research, select and purchase quality products and materials. Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing. Process requisitions and update management on status of orders. Add product images and descriptions to the website using best SEO practices. Maintain product pricing following margin and MAP guidelines set by the manufacturers. Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels. Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery. Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions. Coordinate with warehouse team for supply and inventory issues as required. Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management. Occasional travel required to industry tradeshows. Performs other duties as assigned. Skills
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Photoshop or related photo editing software preferred. Education
