Summary Overview

This position is responsible for managing and maintaining a productive and efficient store that creates an enjoyable shopping environment for customers. The Store Manager is accountable for budget, cost control, store revenue and loss prevention, as well as managing and developing store employees. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Oversees and coordinates daily tasks and activities of a team within established budgets and goals. Accomplishes tasks through individual performance and direct supervision of employees. Provides direction and supervision of employees engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, and serving customers according to established policies and procedures. Assesses floor inventory and determines priority needs for the sales floor. Informs staff of promotions and sales incentives for communication to customers. Works with program staff to provide a rewarding and effective training experience for program participants. Displays and merchandises stock to create an appealing selling environment. Prepares daily deposits of cash for pickup by armored car service. Manages cashier and store discrepancies and provides training to remedy ongoing cash related issues. Provides leadership standard for customer service and manages customer complaints tactfully and efficiently. Orders stock, receives deliveries, and manages inventory. Communicates effectively with subordinates, immediate supervisors, and the Executive team as necessary. Performs work activities of subordinates, such as cleaning, production, donor management, and sales. Production/Donor Management

Provides oversight to donor interaction and donation volume management. Maintains accurate records of donor visits. Ensures textile and hard goods production goals are met according to established allocations. Ensures that all available sellable products are available for sale promptly, are tagged/priced appropriately, and stock rotation is maintained as directed in retail work instructions. Provides instruction and maintains standards of quality in regard to production and merchandising. Prepares for scheduled truck deliveries and loads/unloads trucks as necessary. Provides strategic direction to manage donor and production activity and anticipate potential issues. Maintain proper equipment levels. Human Resources/Administrative Management

Trains new hires and evaluates employee performance. Builds and maintains a motivated and efficiently trained sales/production staff. Educates staff regarding policies, procedures, and work instructions and informs staff of pertinent changes. Submits daily and weekly production reports, maintains sales log, processes staff payroll, completes employee scheduling, and completes other administrative deliverables as necessary. Provides recommendations for marketing and merchandising plans and for sales and expense budget planning. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures and promotes safe working conditions. Responsible for reporting after-hours alarm calls and employee absences; ensures adequate staff coverage and, if necessary, works additional shifts. Maintains IT operational platforms including human resources software and point of sale systems. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualification Requirements

Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, two to five years of retail sales experience, and a minimum of two years supervisory experience. Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, develop, and motivate staff; good team-building abilities. Ability to drive sales and maintain a strong customer focus. Ability to work with a diverse group of customers and staff, including individuals with disabilities. Ability to determine when to direct a problem situation to a supervisor. Proficiency with computers and relevant software for operations and administrative tasks. Satisfactory results of all required background checks. Other Duties

Provides direction and performs activities to improve department and employee performance to meet goals and objectives. Performs administrative requirements such as staff payroll and scheduling. Measures productivity by analyzing performance data and activity reports. Collaborates with other departments and serves on committees as required. Attends training opportunities to enhance job-related skills. Assists in budget development and hiring, training, supervision, coaching, workload planning, promotions, transfers, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Sets performance objectives for individual team members and maintains discretion and confidentiality. Performs duties in accordance with company policies and procedures. Physical Demands

The physical demands that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Frequent lifting/moving of racks, bins, and stock up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required, including depth perception and color distinction.
