Overview

Director Budget & Financial Planning - (250002HF). The Director, Budget & Financial Planning for Children’s National Hospital Foundation will lead the Foundation’s financial management, budgeting, reporting and analysis. S/he will lead and execute an organized and effective annual budgeting process for the Foundation, providing leadership and direction to long-term financial planning, project feasibility, financial analysis and decision support functions. S/he will track, report, analyze and forecast on the Foundation’s financial performance regarding fundraising revenue and accrued expenses against budgets. S/he will be the Foundation lead on internal audit and external audit as well as oversight of Gift Agreements and SPFs. Collaboration will be required to ensure effective use of data and our data infrastructure investments to drive reporting and inform decision making. S/he reports to the Foundation VP of Systems & Data Integrity, and manages at least one direct report. To lead and maintain an organized and effective annual budgeting process in support of CNH mission and values. Provide leadership and direction to the long-term financial planning, project feasibility, financial analysis and decision support functions to establish and maintain comprehensive programs and services that meet the demands of the healthcare industry and fulfill the vision and mission of CNH in an organized, efficient, innovative and cost-effective manner. Responsibilities

Lead and maintain the annual operating and capital budget development and implementation process, including coordinating responsible parties, training management staff, preparing budget packages, analyzing and challenging budget submissions, and providing analytical and supporting reports to ensure integrity of the process and output. Lead the development of financial targets used in the budget process; monitor progress and communicate status and issues during the budget cycle and fiscal year. Ensure data in the budget system is consistent with other financial systems; monitor compliance with the budget and assist in investigating variances and recommending corrective actions. Provide analytical support to evaluate CNH projects and operations in alignment with strategic direction; ensure timely, accurate data for decision support systems to enhance analysis of operational, strategic, and financial growth. Participate in the development, planning and evaluation of new and existing programs and services through strategic and operational business planning. Develop and maintain the Long Range Financial Plan (LRFP) and administer rolling forecasts in conjunction with LRFP and annual budgets. Maintain and guide the long-term financial planning process; lead the data-driven reporting and decision support efforts. Qualifications

Minimum Education : Bachelor\'s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred (Required); Master\'s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance (Preferred). Minimum Work Experience : 10 years developing and managing financial decision making in healthcare, academic, or large, complex organizations (Required). Required Skills/Knowledge : Ability to manage and motivate a team; strong analytical skills, attention to detail, reliability, and understanding of mathematical/statistical relationships and trends; strong organizational skills; proficient with technology including advanced spreadsheet analysis and Office tools; strong written and oral communication and customer service skills; discretion with sensitive information.
