Overview As a Principal Strategic Sourcing Manager, you are a critical individual contributor responsible for driving the sourcing strategy and value chain optimization for Intuit's Services categories (e.g., Professional Services, Management Consulting, HR Consulting, Benefits, Workplace, Facilities, Events, etc.). This role requires deep expertise in the services landscape, understanding its impact on business outcomes and total cost of ownership, with a focus on driving business transformation. You will collaborate with senior leaders across Intuit to identify opportunities for operational improvements, cost optimization, and risk mitigation, ensuring best value from third-party investments.

This role demands a strategic thinker, a strong connector, and a highly analytical individual capable of synthesizing insights between third parties, Intuit’s value chain, and their impact on growth and innovation to drive Intuit's objectives forward. You will develop and execute long and short-term sourcing strategies, with an equal emphasis on identifying, analyzing, and quantifying opportunities, as well as managing RFx processes and leading challenging vendor negotiations.

Responsibilities

Take ownership and proactively lead and manage strategic sourcing initiatives within Professional Services categories.

Lead a portfolio including multiple projects requiring strategy, planning, and execution of transformational, complex, and innovative initiatives.

Define and implement sourcing strategies to drive earnings, growth, and business transformation objectives for the category portfolio.

Drive a total cost of ownership mindset, including evaluation of build/buy/acquire decisions.

Connect product strategies with company goals and collaborate with procurement teams to ensure sourcing efficiency, automation, supplier utilization, risk mitigation, and contract compliance.

Partner with International teams to implement global suppliers and establish local engagement models.

Demonstrate professional integrity and ethical responsibility in all business activities.

Stay informed of industry developments and bring ideas to re-imagine and advance technology, processes, or supplier alliances.

Opportunity Assessment

Own and drive opportunity assessments, including total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, balancing strategic insights with current state representation to engage senior stakeholders.

Evaluate and recommend strategic opportunities to Strategic Sourcing leadership, considering current and emerging business models and short- and long-term considerations.

Develop approaches to present and obtain sponsorship from senior leadership on opportunities.

Strategic Sourcing Process Execution and Project Management

Provide category expertise, identify potential sources of supply, and relate offerings to stakeholder needs.

Structure and execute sourcing processes in negotiations, resolving conflicts and building consensus.

Drive project activity across large cross-functional teams with clear expectations, decisions, deadlines, and deliverables.

Define data requirements and plan for gathering spend, contracts, supplier information, and stakeholder insights.

Use analysis to solve business problems and derive non-obvious insights.

Gather, analyze, and document requirements using interviews, workshops, surveys, and process descriptions.

Lead and manage RFI/RFQ/RFPs from start to finish, including creation, issuance, evaluation (via scorecards), and vendor selection.

Drive consensus on high-impact decisions and create documentation to support executive-level presentations.

Deliver value and transformation across a category, including optimization, insourcing/outsourcing, and TCO savings.

Continuous Improvement and Supplier Management

Partner with stakeholders to review vendor segmentation and include vendors in the VMO program within the portfolio.

Execute vendor management activities (business reviews, scorecard reviews, discussions) aligned with the VMO framework and SRM roles.

Monitor supplier performance and manage escalations/remediation with vendor owners.

Identify SRM opportunities with key vendors to drive continuous improvement across KPIs and foster innovation.
