Company: ServiceNow. This position is for a Staff Software Engineer in ServiceNow Enterprise Asset Management, part of the IT Asset Management suite. Enterprise Asset Management provides an end-to-end solution for managing the lifecycle of assets (onboarding, operations, end of life) including purchasing, inventory, maintenance, work management, shipping, contracts, and warranty coverage. This role involves working in a highly energetic R&D scrum team, collaborating with product management, peers, cross teams, customers, and partners to translate requirements and functional asks into robust technical designs and high-quality product features. It requires hands-on design and coding for delivering product designs, enhancements, proofs of concept, and maintenance releases for Asset management solutions. Please Note:

This position will include supporting US Federal customers. This position requires passing a ServiceNow background screening (USFedPASS). This includes a credit check, criminal/misdemeanor check, and a drug test. Employment is contingent upon passing the screening. Because of Federal requirements, only US citizens, US naturalized citizens, or US Permanent Residents holding a green card will be considered. What you get to do in this role: Build high-quality, clean, scalable and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.) Work with product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation and delivery of high-quality product to our users. Design software that is simple to use to allow customers to extend and customize the functionality to meet their specific needs Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while also enhancing the existing product suite Be a mentor for colleagues and help promote knowledge-sharing Qualifications To be successful in this role you have: Experience in leveraging or thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving, including AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s potential impact on the function or industry. 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent Experience and deep understanding of designing, modifying, and debugging large-scale enterprise applications. System design and database design experience is a must. Experience in Java, JavaScript, XML, RDBMS, SQL Advanced knowledge of relational databases including development, troubleshooting and performance optimization. Exposure to modern UI frameworks like Angular, React or Vue is a plus Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations Experience with automated test scripts, continuous builds, and deployment Ability to lead and manage projects with material technical risk at a team level Note on citizenship Due to U.S. Federal customer requirements, only candidates who are U.S. Citizens, U.S. Naturalized Citizens, or U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) will be considered. This role also requires successful completion of the USFedPASS process, including credit check, criminal background check, drug screening, and verification of U.S. work authorization. These requirements are in accordance with applicable U.S. laws and federal contract obligations. PE25 Compensation For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $163,600 - $286,300, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive structure. Base pay is a guideline and total compensation varies by qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
