This role is a field-based Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) supporting the Epilepsy therapeutic area in the US, covering Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Mississippi. The MSL functions as an extension of the US Medical Affairs organization, developing professional relationships with medical thought leaders and providing medical information and scientific support for Jazz Pharmaceuticals and Medical Affairs. KOL Development and Field Engagement: identify and develop relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare providers in Epilepsy; develop and execute territory plans; communicate key clinical and research insights from KOLs to appropriate departments; participate in medical education for HCPs via on-site presentations, investigator meetings, conferences, advisory boards, or regional meetings; provide scientific support for medical congress staffing, advisory boards, and sales training initiatives. Position as Scientific Expert: maintain up-to-date knowledge of the therapy area, Jazz products, emerging research, and the competitive landscape; establish reputation as a trustworthy source of scientific information; support Jazz positioning as a scientific authority in Epilepsy and attend congresses to stay current and support KOL activities; understand local and national protocols and standards of clinical practice and trends in disease management; provide clinical presentations and information in response to unsolicited questions in academic, community, and healthcare settings; communicate emerging data and clinical experience in an objective manner; support medical congress staffing, advisory boards, and sales training initiatives. Clinical Development and Research Management: act as primary liaison to investigators for IITs; monitor IIT research, review study design, and oversee milestones; collaborate with medical affairs and clinical teams to support patient enrollment in sponsored trials; serve as internal scientific advisor for evaluation of new products and technologies for portfolio planning. Medical Affairs Planning and Plan Execution: contribute to US Medical Plan development and provide input into local strategies; manage relevant budgets as needed to enable Medical Plan tactics; work cross-functionally to implement a Key Account Management approach; interact with HCPs as a scientific resource supporting advisory boards, speaker development and clinical trials. Compliance and Standards: maintain Company standards and Jazz Values; engage healthcare providers with scientific exchanges; document and forward adverse event reports and product complaints per policy; adhere to national and local Codes of Practice; act ethically and with integrity; serve as an ambassador for Jazz Pharmaceuticals; maintain and execute development plans and timely reporting as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: research and critically analyze complex scientific information; willingness to travel at least 60% of work days; clear and concise communication and presentation skills; strong planning and organizational abilities; strategic mindset; self-motivated and autonomous work style; quick learner, adaptable and results-focused; strong negotiation and relationship-building skills; proficiency with digital platforms; excellent spoken English. Education and Experience
MS/Advanced Practice Degree in a scientific/medical field with ≥5 years Epilepsy experience OR MD/PhD/PharmD; MSL experience in Neurology required with Epilepsy strongly preferred; minimum 3 years as an MSL with a strong track record; field position with 60–80% travel; valid driver’s license and residence within 60 miles of a major airport.
