Deckers Brands Corporate Counsel, North America — Goleta, CA (Hybrid). The Corporate Counsel, North America (NA) plays a pivotal role on the Legal Team, driving company-wide initiatives with a focus on assigned subject areas. This role collaborates with business partners across the company and Deckers’ brands, managing conflicting priorities through effective time management, clear internal communication, and a collaborative team approach. Lead company-wide initiatives on the Legal Team with a focus on assigned subject areas. Collaborate closely with business partners across departments and Deckers’ brands. Manage competing priorities with efficient time management and clear internal communication, maintaining a positive team approach. Advance the business through a wide range of legal tasks; respond promptly to legal requests from the business and translate legal concepts into actionable guidance. Serve as day-to-day advisor for designated legal support functions while delivering legal excellence. Execute cross-functional projects and legal support related to global marketing, intellectual property, real estate, litigation, retail and wholesale sales, contracts, privacy, technology, company policies, and other substantive projects as needed. Focus areas include real estate leases, data privacy compliance, and marketplace management. Advise business teams on negotiating, drafting, and finalizing contracts, including collaboration, endorsement, real estate leases, services, sales, manufacturing and other agreements. Identify, assess and mitigate legal and business risks; communicate risks to business partners and help strategize mitigations. Manage outside counsel and consultants for the assigned function, ensuring work is on budget and aligned with business needs. Develop knowledge of the Company’s organization, policies, procedures, practices and personnel; foster strong relationships across functions. Support integration of the legal team within Deckers culture through trainings and meetings with business teams. Collaborate with EMEA and APAC legal teams on global projects to implement standard legal processes. Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes. Perform other duties and complete special projects as assigned; support the development of paralegals on the team. Qualifications
3+ years of relevant legal experience. Juris Doctor (JD) from a recognized institution. Qualified to practice law in California. Relevant experience in legal practice. What We’ll Give You
