OUR MISSION: TO ENSURE CRITICAL POWER IS AVAILABLE WHEN THE WORLD NEEDS IT. The Import/Export Compliance Manager manages Avtron's NA import/export program to ensure company compliance with international trade compliance laws and regulations. Although the focus of the role is on the laws and regulations administered by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP); the National Customs Agency of Mexico; and the Canada Border Services Agency; this role will collaborate with customs brokers globally to ensure that Avtron's global logistics requirements are supported. As needed, this role will work closely with both internal and external Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory resources to enable business success and ensure integrity while achieving regulatory compliance and protection of national security interests. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Essential Functions: Provide comprehensive import and export support to all Avtron employees interfacing with customers and shippers, ensuring efficient air, ocean, and customs processes. Requests for freight quotes and transit details are promptly addressed. Ensure the proper issuance and use of trade documentation, including commercial invoices, export declarations, shipper letters of instruction, letters of credit, contracts, and purchase orders. Maintains a clear understanding of country of origin, ensures accuracy of declared values, and tracks applicable tariff rates. Train and provide guidance on recommended Incoterms. Develop and enhance import/export manuals and processes, focusing on improving response and service to customers. Consider product classifications, duty rates, tax issues, drawback, and preferential treatments to reduce costs and increase operational effectiveness and efficiency. Ensures there is constant visibility of all air and ocean shipments to support the Customer Success team in providing updates to customers. Manages the customs compliance education process for all employees and customers involved with the importing and exporting process. Manages Avtron's import/export compliance programs, free trade programs, record keeping systems, classification, marking of imported/exported product, coordination of customs brokers' activities. Directs the classification of products crossing international borders (Harmonized System/Harmonized Tariff Schedule). Provides guidance on inquiries for product classification into other countries and /or directs to the appropriate resource. Develops and supports the information system needs for database management and information retrieval of records to comply with U.S. Customs regulations. Conducts compliance audits as required to identify corrective actions of compliance processes and improve responsiveness. Develops and maintains "expert" status on the requirements of "reasonable care", customs issues, rules of classification and other pertinent areas. Ensures the processes are in place to fully support Foreign Trade Agreements, including USMCA, and the certification process. Negotiates pricing on all air and ocean transportation in and out of North America leveraging purchasing power to obtain best cost consistent with business requirements. Manages the bidding and awarding of long term agreements with freight forwarders and brokers. Ensures that all activities are performed in compliance with corporate policy and government regulations. Responsible for all government requests for information concerning import and export compliance. Investigates reports of suspected violations under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control, and the Bureau of Industry and Security's anti-boycott laws. Advise Avtron personnel on applicable U.S. laws and regulations regarding compliance with Export Control Laws and Regulations for products, technologies, and information, including but not limited to ITAR, EAR and licensing, re-exportation, embargoed destinations and parties, Antiboycott Laws and Regulations, and activities covered under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Consults with external legal counsel as required. Reviews any and all violations with senior management with follow-up to confirm future compliance. Administers Avtron's Policy for Activities Involving Designated Countries or Parties. Leads the development of sanctions screening policies and procedures. Ensures NA governmental compliance laws and regulations are effectively communicated and adhered to by impacted global organization. Provides cross-operational functional guidance and direction to Logistics, Finance, Operations, Sales, Product Managers, Customer Success, Supply Chain, etc. on all air/ocean international transportation and import/export compliance matters. EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: BS or BA in Business Management Skills Ability to prioritize to ensure that customer requirements are effectively managed Ability to multi-task, handling quick turnaround Ability to identify problem issues and escalate and/or execute acceptable solutions Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, governmental entities; legal; customs brokers and employees/managers at all levels within the company Excellent organizational skills Ability to maintain safe work environment Experience Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive import and export compliance experience Understanding of international import/export laws, including EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and U.S customs regulations. Experienced user of SAP, Excel, power point and databases Advanced analytical and presentation skills required Experience in ERP systems, SAP desired .
