Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled 3D Printing Technician to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, refurbishing, and preparing 3D printers for resale. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with 3D printing hardware, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with manufacturers' support teams. This position also involves preparing refurbished machines for resale through online platforms such as eBay and Facebook Marketplace. Key Responsibilities Diagnosis & Troubleshooting Identify issues with faulty 3D printers, including hardware and basic firmware problems. Work with manufacturers' technical support teams to determine root causes and recommended solutions. Repair & Refurbishment Install replacement parts (motors, hot ends, mainboards, sensors, belts, etc.) as needed. Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards. Fully test machines after repair to confirm proper functionality and print quality. Quality Control & Testing Conduct thorough test prints to validate printer performance. Document test results, repairs completed, and any replaced parts. Resale Preparation Clean and repackage refurbished machines for resale. Write accurate and appealing product listings for resale platforms (eBay, Facebook Marketplace, etc.). Photograph machines to highlight condition and functionality. Inventory & Organization Maintain records of refurbished machines, including repair history and resale status. Track spare parts and report low stock as needed. Qualifications Hands-on experience with 3D printers (FDM, resin experience a plus). Strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with common 3D printer hardware components and repair procedures. Ability to follow technical documentation and collaborate with manufacturer support. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and related listing tools. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Preferred Skills Experience with multiple 3D printer brands and models. Knowledge of slicing software (e.g., Cura, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio). Previous experience in electronics repair or refurbishing. Ability to write clear and professional product descriptions. Working Conditions Hands-on, workshop environment with regular use of tools and equipment. Occasional lifting and moving of 3D printers (up to 50 lbs). Combination of technical repair work and computer-based tasks.
