Position Description:
" equip God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity…and become mature." (Eph 4:12-13)
This is a team-focused role working closely with staff and volunteers to move kids and parents closer to Jesus. Responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of Kids Ministry (Birth - 5th Grade). This includes creating a safe, engaging, and spiritually enriching environment where children can grow in their understanding of God and the Bible. Recruit, train, and support volunteers, develop curriculum, and partner with parents to nurture the spiritual development of children.

Part Time (29 hours)
Hybrid Work Environment (office, home, beyond), generally Sunday through Thursday but may change due to season or events
Willing and able to flex hours due to both personal/family and ministry needs/demands
Paid Time Off, Sick Days, Retirement (after 3 full years)

Responsibilities:
SHEPHERD/PASTORAL CARE
Prayer, intentional connection, discipleship, and care for children and parents
SUNDAYS and MIDWEEK PROGRAMMING
Oversee ministry for nursery, preschool, and elementary age groups
Select, adapt, and manage curriculum for each age group to ensure age-appropriate, engaging lessons
Train, equip, and encourage volunteer teachers in classroom management, lesson delivery, and child discipleship
Recruit, schedule, and manage all children's ministry volunteers, ensuring completion of background checks and required training
Maintain children's ministry supplies, spaces, and records
Design and publish social media, church announcements, website, and weekly update to communicate regularly with parents
Print and upload video for curriculum
Provide parenting and discipleship resources
Develop and implement safety policies and check-in procedures
VISION
Provide leadership and vision for the continued development of children's ministry
Identify opportunities to improve ministry processes, maximize space use, and explore future programming possibilities
Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the broader vision of the church
EVENTS
Plan for seasonal children's programs (e.g., Vacation Bible School, Christmas/Easter presentations, family worship events)
Teach baptism classes for children and provide follow-up support
MISCELLANEOUS
Use of Planning Center software for communication and organization
Various administrative and other tasks needed to keep ministry running
Other tasks/needs that Lead Pastor or Community Pastor delegates

Additional Capabilities Required:
Must be able to use a computer keyboard, read from a computer monitor, and utilize a variety of computer software
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be able to cope with a number of varied and pressing priorities at any given time
Must be able to maintain Christian behaviors and attitudes when faced with difficult, argumentative or other challenging confrontations and conversations
