Data Scientists provide quantitative support, market understanding and a strategic perspective to our partners throughout the organization. As a data-loving member of the team, you serve as an analytics expert for your partners, using numbers to help them make better decisions. You will weave stories with meaningful insight from data and make critical recommendations for your fellow Googlers in Engineering and Product Management. You will tally up the numbers and communicate findings to a team leader as needed.
Ads Privacy and Safety drives trust with our customers, end-users and stakeholders to responsibly grow the Ads business for Google. We solve problems from adversaries in advertising fraud, spam, and abuse to evolving privacy, regulatory, and compliance obligations. Our work includes transforming the customer policy experience by instrumenting the advertiser onboarding journey, using Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic workflows to prevent invalid traffic, and redefining Google’s approach to consent and ads personalization.
Our Data Science team consists of product analysts, researchers, and research scientists focused on solving problems and improving user experience through data-driven decisions. We foster a culture of proactive measurement across the organization, defining, instrumenting, and guiding product development with input and output metrics.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities
Perform analysis utilizing relevant tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python). Direct projects that combine analytical and organizational issues toward actionable decisions.
Own end-to-end projects, covering problem definition, metrics development, data extraction and manipulation, visualization, development and implementation of statistical models, and presentation to stakeholders.
Address ambiguous or new problems by leveraging existing systems and collaborating to turn broad problems into actionable work for the team.
Oversee cross-functional/project timelines, drive improvements and recommendations, and define operational goals and objectives.
Provide direction and accomplish results through leading/impacting the contributions of others.
Qualifications Minimum qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
13 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL) or 10 years of experience with a Master’s degree.
5 years of experience as a people manager within a technical leadership role.
Preferred qualifications
Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
15 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
6 years of experience as a people manager within a technical leadership role.
