As needed, additional positions may be filled using this announcement. Salary range contains multiple steps. In most cases, the salary will be set at the starting point of the range for the grade level selected for new federal employees. GS-7: $52,167 to $67,821. This position is also being announced to All U.S. Citizens and Nationals under 25-OHN-12794852-DE through September 25, 2025.

Eligibility and Qualifications – GS-7 To be eligible at the GS-7 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a Combination of Education and Experience.

Specialized Experience : One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level. Examples include: examining and processing a variety of legal documents; conducting research; drafting briefs, pleadings, litigation recommendations, or other legal documents and correspondence; using a variety of electronic or manual filing systems to acquire and store information; searching and reviewing legal references, case files, and other sources for information and data required by attorneys or court personnel.

Education : Successful completion of one full year of graduate education (18 semester hours or the number used by your school to describe one graduate year) leading to a master's degree in a related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Law); or LL.B or JD; which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform paralegal specialist work.

Superior Academic Achievement : A full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (or expected completion within 9 months) and meeting one of the following provisions: (1) class standing in the upper one-third of the graduating class; (2) a GPA of 3.0 or higher as recorded on the official transcript or as computed based on courses completed during the final two full years; (3) a GPA of 3.5 or higher based on required major-field courses completed during the final two years; or (4) election to a membership in a national scholastic honor society.

Combining Education and Experience : Combination of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. Graduate education must be in excess of 1 full year.

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP) : The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
