Overview

The Senior Planned Giving Technical Consultant provides expert advice to the department\'s management and staff regarding legal, tax, and regulatory requirements that affect charitable gift planning and the administration and investment of client trusts, gift annuities, and other planned giving arrangements. The job consults with relationship managers, client account managers, trust administrators, other associates, members of management, client staff, and legal counsel to resolve issues and problems associated with prospective new and existing planned gifts to client institutions. Pay and Posting

Base pay range: $105,000.00/yr - $147,000.00/yr. Anticipated posting end date: 2025-09-30. Actual base salary may vary based upon relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the compensation package may include incentives linked to performance. Responsibilities

Researches and responds to staff questions in areas such as state fiduciary law, state and federal tax law, and state gift annuity regulation. Works with relationship managers and gift administration and tax staff to support complex gift planning initiatives and the resolution of gift administration, tax, and investment issues on specific client accounts. Reviews and digests existing trust documents accepted by client institutions for administration and qualification issues. Reviews and digests existing trusts for client institutions that have hired the organization and are transitioning their programs to management. Researches and analyzes legal and administration issues and prepares interoffice communications at the direction of the Director. Monitors changes in state fiduciary law, state and federal tax law, court cases, and regulations that affect charitable gift planning and charities that serve as trustees. Manages the maintenance of the Technical Consulting reference library by researching state and federal law and updating reference materials as needed (not less than annually). Serves as project manager over the trust digesting process (e.g., prepares status reports, coordinates with client transition manager and client account manager to schedule transitions). Develops and delivers technical training for staff, including training on trust and tax law. Qualifications

Educational Requirements: University degree preferred. Work Experience: 3+ years required; 5+ years preferred. Physical Requirements: Sedentary work.
