Analytical/QC Chemist
Our client, a large chemical manufacturer, is seeking a highly skilled
Analytical Chemist Specialist
with strong Quality Control experience and subject matter expertise in ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of semiconductor-grade chemical analysis, E-grade metal testing, SQC charting, and analytical methods development. This role is critical in ensuring the precision, reliability, and compliance of our high-purity chemical products used in semiconductor manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ICP-MS operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and data interpretation.
Lead and support analytical method development, optimization, and validation for trace metal analysis in high-purity chemicals and materials.
Perform non-routine and complex chemical analyses on semiconductor-grade materials with a focus on E-grade metals/chemicals.
Interpret and manage Statistical Quality Control (SQC) charts, ensuring process stability and product quality over time.
Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments, especially ICP-MS, following strict internal and external quality standards.
Author and review SOPs, test methods, and technical documentation to support laboratory operations and audits.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, Production, R&D) to troubleshoot product quality issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure laboratory operations are in full compliance with ISO, IATF, and other applicable regulatory and industry standards.
Train and mentor junior chemists or lab technicians on analytical techniques and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
5+ years of hands-on experience in a quality control laboratory environment, preferably in the semiconductor or high-purity chemical industry.
Deep expertise in ICP-MS instrumentation and techniques.
Proficiency in analyzing ultra-trace metals and interpreting complex analytical data.
Familiarity with semiconductor-grade chemical specifications, such as SEMI standards.
Strong experience with SQC charts and data-driven decision-making in a laboratory setting.
Experience in analytical method development and validation.
Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
Familiarity with other analytical techniques (e.g., ICP-OES, IC, UV-Vis, TOC) is a plus.
