Join a team grounded in discipline, service, and excellence that is making a real difference in the community We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to join the MTA Construction & Development (C&D) Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) Business Unit Capital Program. In this role, you'll be responsible for creating, maintaining, and analyzing complex project schedules for major rail infrastructure projects. Your work will help ensure milestones are achieved, risks are mitigated, and projects stay on track. You will collaborate closely with engineers, contractors, and agency leadership while playing a critical role in shaping project outcomes. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain detailed, resource-loaded project schedules using Primavera P6. Build schedules from initiation through close-out using project scope, estimates, drawings, and contracts. Apply Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Organizational Breakdown Structures (OBS) to logically organize activities. Perform Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis, identify dependencies and milestones. Integrate cost data into schedules and develop cost-loaded baselines. Monitor progress against baselines, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions. Conduct performance analysis using Earned Value Management (EVM) and related metrics. Prepare and deliver regular schedule reports, dashboards, and KPIs for stakeholders. Support claims and change management through delay analyses and Time Impact Assessments (TIA). Review and approve contractor schedules; integrate them into master schedules. Participate in site visits to verify progress and support staging/phasing plans. Ensure compliance with MTA Capital Program policies and documentation standards. Facilitate schedule review meetings with project managers, design teams, and contractors. Contribute to the continuous improvement of scheduling practices, templates, and tools. Qualifications Required Minimum 3 years of recent, hands-on scheduling experience using Primavera P6. Strong understanding of project management principles, scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting. Experience analyzing contractor schedules, conducting EVM, TIAs, and reviewing delays/change orders. Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure. Must be able to attend field visits, including in active rail environments. Preferred Experience with MTA agencies or railroad infrastructure projects. Knowledge of railroad construction methods and industry standards. Professional certification (AACE, PMI-PMP, or equivalent) in planning/scheduling.
