Job Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment used in our steel fabrication process. This role ensures that all equipment operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and maximizing production. Responsibilities Perform scheduled maintenance on all production machinery, including CNC robotic machines, hydraulic presses, shears, and welders. Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they cause equipment failures. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in machinery and equipment. Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components, including bearings, belts, gears, and hydraulic cylinders. Support equipment upgrades and modifications to enhance functionality and performance. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to equipment maintenance and safety. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including service logs, repairs, and parts inventory. Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, and safety concerns to the supervisor and management. Work closely with production staff and other maintenance team members to address equipment issues and minimize production disruptions. Experience High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical maintenance or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as basic welding and machining techniques. Minimum 5 years of current maintenance mechanic experience is required. Experience within a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment is preferred. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
