Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Skilled Carpenter to work independently or alongside our other Lead Carpenters and apprentices. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of carpentry and construction, with the ability to mentor apprentices and ensure high-quality workmanship. You will take ownership of projects from start to finish, maintain our standards of excellence, and contribute to our reputation for superior craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities Farming: walls, floors, roof, second story decks, multi-level stairwell, carports, exterior structures, and understanding of hangers and structural hardware. Window & doors: Proper flashing, setting of windows and doors of all types. Siding: Vinyl, wood, fiber cement, and metal. Install various types of flooring, interior doors, baseboards, and casings. · Install upper & lower cabinets with precision. · Drywall: Install, mud, tape and texture · Understanding of basic plumbing and electrical (For remodeling purposes) · Work directly with Lead Carpenters and mentor apprentice carpenters and less experienced team members · Able to communicate with other trades including electricians, plumbers, and HVAC. · Troubleshoot construction problems and implement effective solutions Great communication skills and professional attitude in dealing with clients Operate power tools, hand tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently Ensure all work meets building codes, safety standards, and quality specifications Required Qualifications · Reliable transportation that can pull cargo trailer and valid driver's license · Able to back up cargo and dump trailers · Toolbars, hand tools, and professional grade battery operated tools · Must pass drug screening · Minimum 4-6 years of professional carpentry experience and clear understanding construction standards · Physical ability to lift 75+ lbs., work in various weather conditions, ability to work at heights and in confined spaces · Ability to accurately place material orders. · Ability to perform accurate measurements, calculations, and takeoffs for projects. · Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail · Work directly with lead carpenters and willingness to adapt to new building skills · Proficient with power tools, hand tools, and construction equipment · Ability to work independently without supervision Preferred Qualifications 4-8 years of residential construction experience Experience with Insurance Reconstruction, bathroom & kitchen remodels, production framing background Experience with finish carpentry Experience with drywall and tile (to finished product) Owns professional grade tools Carpentry certification or formal trade school education OSHA 30 certification What We Offer Competitive Pay: based on experience and skills demonstrated Excellent Schedule: 4-day work week, Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts Paid Sick Time Career Growth: Leadership opportunities and potential for project management roles Professional Development: Opportunities to expand skills across multiple construction disciplines Variety: Work on diverse projects from residential remodels to new construction Employment Details Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Day shift, Monday through Thursday (10-hour shifts) Location: Olympia, WA 98516 and surrounding areas Work Environment: In-person, primarily outdoor construction sites * Application Requirements Must be able to commute to Olympia, WA 98516 Must be willing to relocate to the Olympia area before starting work if not currently local People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply Join our team as a Skilled Carpenter where your expertise and leadership will drive the success of our projects while maintaining our reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
