Way Construction Development (WayCD) is seeking a full-time Construction Superintendent to lead day-to-day operations on commercial construction sites across the Phoenix Valley, with projects in Mesa, Buckeye, Casa Grande, and Peoria. Our work is primarily focused on commercial buildings, including K–12 educational facilities, with some diversity across other commercial project types.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized and solution-oriented leader with strong field experience, a deep understanding of construction sequencing and subcontractor coordination, and fluency in tools like Procore and Bluebeam. We're open to both mid-level and senior superintendents, and value team members who bring leadership, accountability, and a high standard of jobsite execution.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Jobsite Leadership: Oversee all field operations from groundbreaking through closeout. Coordinate subcontractors, site safety, quality control, scheduling, and inspections to ensure the project is delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard.
Schedule Management: Develop, maintain, and communicate the project schedule using critical path methods. Identify risks or delays early and implement mitigation plans.
Subcontractor Coordination: Lead daily site meetings and maintain a strong working relationship with subcontractors and vendors. Ensure alignment on scope, sequencing, and safety expectations.
Safety Oversight: Promote and enforce a culture of safety at all times. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and project-specific protocols.
Communication & Documentation: Work closely with the Project Manager to maintain accurate daily reports, RFI logs, photo documentation, and lookahead schedules. Use Procore and Bluebeam to manage jobsite information and maintain real-time updates.
Quality Assurance: Monitor workmanship and material compliance with plans and specs. Proactively address deficiencies and perform punch list walk-throughs.
Client & Inspector Interface: : Represent WayCD on-site in a professional manner with owners, architects, and inspectors. Attend inspections, walkthroughs, and project meetings.
Project Turnover: Ensure a smooth closeout process, including final inspections, owner training, as-builts, and handoff documentation.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to read plans/specs, review submittals, and manage RFIs/ASIs on digital platforms
Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership presence, clear communication, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to lead diverse teams and mentor junior personnel.
Work Ethic: High sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability.
Must be willing to travel to job sites across the Phoenix area as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
3–5 years as a superintendent or assistant superintendent on commercial builds
Technical skills in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in commercial construction is required; K–12 school project experience is a strong plus
7+ years of superintendent experience managing entire projects from mobilization to turnover
OSHA 30 Certified
First Aid/CPR Certified
