Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in various accounting software. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. Responsibilities Process and record accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely. Perform account reconciliations to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted. Prepare and send out invoices to clients, ensuring all billing is accurate and compliant with financial regulations. Manage collections on overdue accounts, utilizing negotiation skills to resolve payment issues. Maintain customer records and update account information as necessary. Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies related to billing or payments. Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including aging reports and cash flow forecasts. Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and other relevant accounting standards. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft for data entry and reporting purposes. Skills Proficiency in accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries. Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, or PeopleSoft. Strong understanding of financial concepts including account reconciliation and revenue cycle management. Familiarity with medical terminology and CPT coding is a plus for roles within healthcare settings. Excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy (10 key typing). Strong analytical skills for account analysis and financial reporting. Effective communication skills with an emphasis on customer service and phone etiquette. Knowledge of public accounting practices, governmental accounting, or non-profit accounting is desirable. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
