Director of Operations ETI Company Overview ETI Tech and Starwin Industries, is an Ohio based manufacturer with machining, assembly, welding, tooling, composite, and paint capabilities, supporting a broad range of weapons systems, from legacy aircraft and naval ships to state of the art, 5th generation fighters and new production jet engines. Overview The Director of Operations will lead and manage all manufacturing operations for a single-shift aerospace manufacturing facility. This role is crucial for ensuring production efficiency, quality control, and on-time delivery of products. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in aerospace manufacturing, able to manage a small, dedicated team and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Leadership: Direct and oversee all manufacturing processes, including production scheduling, quality assurance, and supply chain management. Team Management: Lead and mentor a manufacturing team. Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and foster a positive and safe work environment. Process Improvement: Champion and implement Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs. Identify and drive process improvements. Quality & Compliance: Ensure all products meet strict aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., AS9100). Maintain meticulous records and documentation for all manufacturing activities. Safety: Develop and enforce safety protocols to ensure a secure workplace. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions. Budgeting & Planning: Manage the operations budget, including resource allocation, material purchasing, and capital expenditure planning. Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering, sales, and quality departments to ensure seamless product development and delivery. Qualifications Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role, with at least 3 years in the aerospace or a related high-precision industry. Experience working with defense contracts is strongly preferred. Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control systems (AS9100), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Demonstrated expertise in Lean Manufacturing methodologies. Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a small team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Problem-Solving: A proactive and analytical mindset with a strong ability to solve complex operational challenges. Certifications: Six Sigma Black Belt certification is preferred Certifications in Lean Six Sigma or project management (PMP) are highly desirable.
