Compensation: $111,000 – $150,000/year + negotiable sign-on bonus + partial relocation package Position Summary The Director of Quality and Risk leads the hospital's Quality/Performance Improvement, Risk Management, and Medical Staff Office departments. This role ensures facility-wide regulatory compliance, serves as the Patient Safety Officer, and acts as the Ethics & Compliance Officer. The director partners with hospital leadership, providers, and staff to improve patient outcomes, maintain accreditation standards, and advance a culture of safety and accountability. Essential Functions Quality Oversight Lead the facility's performance improvement and patient safety programs. Direct regulatory and accreditation readiness, including CMS and Joint Commission standards. Implement and sustain Six Sigma and other process improvement initiatives. Risk Management Conduct clinical risk assessments and incident investigations. Develop policies and procedures to reduce liability exposure. Oversee reporting, corrective action planning, and compliance with PSOrg requirements. Provide ongoing staff education and training in risk management. Ethics & Compliance Chair the Facility Ethics & Compliance Committee. Foster a culture where employees can report concerns without fear of retaliation. Conduct investigations and coordinate corporate compliance audits. Advise leadership and staff on compliance-related issues. Leadership Manage and evaluate departmental staff, including fiscal responsibility. Collaborate with medical staff and clinical managers to align quality, compliance, and safety goals. Serve as a key liaison with regulatory agencies. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Experience: 5+ years healthcare experience (clinical background preferred). 2+ years in clinical risk management preferred. Supervisory/management experience preferred. Certifications/Licenses: Basic Life Support (BLS) required. CPHRM and CPPS required (or must obtain within 2 years). RN license preferred. Skills: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
