POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a skilled and reliable Part-Time Accompanist to provide piano accompaniment for rehearsals, performances, and lessons. The ideal candidate will have strong sight-reading abilities, excellent musicianship, and experience collaborating with vocalists and instrumentalists across various genres. Reports to: Director of Choral music Supervises: None ESSENTIAL DUTIES Responsible for supporting and the vision and philosophy of the Vocal Music Department as established in collaboration with the Director of the Arts and Director of Vocal Music Accompany soloists, ensembles, or choirs during auditions, rehearsals and performances Sight-read and interpret musical scores accurately Collaborate with music directors, conductors, and teachers to support rehearsals and events Adapt accompaniment style to suit different musical genres and settings Attend scheduled rehearsals, lessons, and performances punctually Rehearses outside class time with small groups and soloists Participates in assessing skill level for incoming and returning students both individually and as a group Works with the Director of Vocal Music to schedule a professional band for 4-5 performances each year Creates charts for the band as determined by Director of Vocal Music Serves as the music director for vocal music performances (5 main performances + additional smaller performances throughout the school year) ADDITIONAL DUTIES All other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
