Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Electrical Project Manager to lead and manage the execution of large-scale Renewable Energy, Power Plant, and Electrical Substation projects delivered under EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in electrical systems, a solid understanding of substation and transmission line construction, and proven capabilities in project management. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of project delivery—including planning, procurement, scheduling, budgeting, execution, and closeout—while ensuring strict compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards. The Project Manager will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to successfully deliver complex power infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage substation projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
Oversee all phases of EPC project execution including engineering coordination, procurement oversight, civil works, equipment installation, testing, and commissioning.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls staff.
Review and interpret substation drawings, specifications, schematics, and construction documents.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry codes, utility standards, and client specifications.
Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations across one or more active substation projects.
Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively resolve issues to maintain project performance.
Facilitate communications with clients, utilities, and stakeholders, providing regular progress updates and issue resolution.
Support and enforce site safety programs, environmental compliance, and quality assurance protocols.
Provide leadership and direction to field personnel, subcontractors, and junior project staff.
Perform site visits and inspections to verify progress, safety compliance, and quality of construction activities.
Coordinate substation work with transmission line construction and grid interconnection requirements to ensure successful energization.
Prepare regular reports, forecasts, and project documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5+ years of industry experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager overseeing EPC projects in Renewable Energy, Power Plant, or Electrical Substation construction.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Construction Management preferred; candidates with 10+ years of directly relevant professional experience in the electric power industry will also be considered.
Proven track record managing all phases of EPC project execution, including engineering coordination, procurement oversight, construction management, and commissioning support.
Strong working knowledge of medium-voltage substation systems, including switchgear, transformers, protective relays, and SCADA systems.
Solid understanding of high-voltage transmission (HVT) systems and associated construction and commissioning practices.
Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, Procore, or equivalent).
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
Skilled at reading and interpreting technical documents, specifications, and electrical drawings to support design reviews and field execution.
Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Willingness to travel 25–35% to project sites as required.
Physical Requirements:
Work Environment: This job primarily operates in a professional office setting but must be able to traverse construction sites as required.
Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
