Groundskeeper and Maintenance Laborer

Apply in person only. Under supervision of the Superintendent, groundskeepers work on the diverse range of activities involved in golf course turf maintenance and construction. Groundkeepers perform semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work and performs related tasks as required. Typical tasks Operates light powered equipment in the maintenance of golf course, including putting greens, collars, tees fairways, and roughs. Irrigates and fertilizes putting greens, tees, fairways, and roughs. Grades and prepares a soil plant bed, lays sod plants vegetative material, and seeds putting greens, tees, fairways, and roughs. Changes hole location and tee-markers. Maintains ball washers and water hazards. Rakes and maintains bunkers. Assists in construction of new greens, tees, and fairways by grading, preparing soil and planting. Operates light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris. Trims trees, prunes shrubbery, and removes fallen leaves. Cultivates shrubs and flowers. Prerequisites Must be competent in 2-way communication in English, being able to understand and follow written and oral directions. Communicate back to superintendent, assistant superintendent, maintenance foreman and other supervisors in clearly communicable English. Willingness and ability to receive, and retain instructions on the use of equipment, tools, and materials used in golf course landscape and construction work. Must have a valid driver's license.
