CareLink is seeking a strategic, creative, and detail-oriented Communications Officer to lead the agency's communications, marketing, public relations, and fundraising support efforts. This role manages brand integrity, develops compelling campaigns, and ensures CareLink's mission, programs, and services are clearly communicated to diverse audiences across Central Arkansas. The Communications Officer works closely with senior leadership, development, and program teams to plan and execute initiatives that increase community awareness, strengthen donor and partner relationships, and drive engagement across digital, print, and in-person channels. The ideal candidate is both a big-picture thinker and a hands-on executor — skilled at juggling multiple projects, collaborating across teams, and using data to inform strategies and measure results.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or related field 2+ years' experience in marketing or communications (in-house or agency) Proficiency with digital marketing tools (email platforms, project management software, social media schedulers) Basic graphic design skills; proficiency in Canva or Adobe Creative Suite Valid Arkansas driver's license and proof of auto liability insurance Or, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities Preferred Qualifications
Nonprofit marketing or communications experience Experience managing advertising campaigns and budgets with local publications, media outlets, and online platforms Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of public relations, marketing, and fundraising principles and best practices Knowledge of Central Arkansas media landscape, including publications, broadcasters, and community networks Knowledge of how to plan, execute, and measure campaigns – both traditional and digital – to meet agency goals Knowledge of digital tools for efficiency and workflow management, including project management platforms, email marketing software, and CRM or donor databases Knowledge of content creation, including writing, editing, and basic graphic design for print and digital formats Knowledge of how to manage and optimize advertising placements and budgets Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software applications Ability to conduct research and compile and analyze data to support data-driven decision-making Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, adapting messaging for diverse audiences Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with donors, volunteers, and colleagues Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as brand manager, ensuring the integrity of the CareLink brand through consistent use of logo, messaging, and style guidelines across the agency Develop, implement, and evaluate the annual Communications Plan, aligning with agency priorities, objectives, resources, and timelines Oversee work of outside communications or creative firms, including prioritizing assignments, directing projects, and approving deliverables Oversee maintenance and regular updates of the agency website, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with brand standards Write, design, and oversee the layout and production of brochures, newsletters (print and digital), and other agency publications Manage agency social media accounts, creating and scheduling content that reflects best practices Support the needs of other departments by creating or editing communications materials tailored to their audiences and objectives Create materials and promote new agency initiatives, programs, and offerings as they emerge Develop and implement strategic marketing campaigns that promote CareLink's programs, services, and mission, ensuring content is aligned with agency priorities and audiences Manage the advertising budget, allocating resources strategically across campaigns, channels, and audiences while accounting for funding splits and restrictions Develop and coordinate photo shoots, video productions, and other creative assets for campaigns Track, analyze, and present marketing performance data, using insights to refine strategies and report outcomes to leadership Identify and evaluate new channels, mediums, and publications to expand the agency's marketing reach and audience engagement Stay up to date on marketing best practices, tools, and trends to keep CareLink competitive and top-of-mind in the community Coordinate with the leadership and colleagues to develop campaign content and creative concepts that meet agency and department objectives while ensuring consistency in voice and visual identity Serve as the primary PR contact for the agency, ensuring consistent, accurate messaging across all public-facing opportunities Develop and maintain an active network of key media representatives, influencers, potential partners, and other contacts to increase community awareness of CareLink's mission and services Plan and manage TV, radio, and other guest appearances, including messaging, talking points, and on-screen visuals Identify newsworthy events, initiatives, and milestones throughout the year; create and maintain a press calendar to ensure timely outreach and coverage Generate creative strategies to secure earned media coverage and other high-visibility opportunities across traditional and digital platforms Coordinate and promote agency events in collaboration with other departments to maximize visibility and attendance Respond promptly to press and media inquiries, providing accurate information and connecting journalists with appropriate staff or subject Assist with the creation of in-house fundraising campaigns, including developing supporting materials, managing online giving functions, and providing related reporting Support agency fundraising events through promotion, signage, participant communications, logistics coordination, and day-of management Coordinate promotion, graphics, and logistics for partnership-based fundraising opportunities with external Assist with donor stewardship through thank-you letters, cards, and a variety of other personalized touchpoints to strengthen relationships and encourage continued giving Utilize donor and other constituent data to inform communication strategies, audience targeting, and campaign planning Record relevant communication touchpoints in the donor database (e.g., newsletter distribution, event invitations, campaign participation) Update, segment, and maintain email distribution lists to ensure accurate targeting and optimal engagement Pull and prepare mailing lists, gift reports, and other segmented data sets for use in newsletters and other outreach efforts Track and analyze communication engagement metrics (e.g., open rates, click-throughs, event participation) and report findings to guide future strategies Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and organizational policies when collecting, storing, and using constituent data Additional Information Location: North Little Rock, AR Employment Type: Full-Time Salary Range: $49,862-$57,330 CareLink does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry)
