DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT The City of Kennedale, Texas (pop. 10,233) is seeking a Director of Community Development.Kennedale is located just southeast of Fort Worth. The City of Kennedale is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Community Development Director to lead planning, development, zoning, and permitting operations during a time of dynamic residential and commercial growth. This is a key leadership role with high visibility and the opportunity to make a lasting impact. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ·Oversee planning, zoning, permitting, inspections, and code enforcement ·Guide development review and long-term community planning ·Serve as staff liaison to City Council, Planning & Zoning Commission, and EDC ·Manage department budget, staff, and strategic initiatives ·Lead public engagement and represent the City at meetings and events REQUIREMENTS ·Bachelor's degree in Planning, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred) ·AICP certification or willingness to obtain ·At least 5 years of experience in municipal or local government planning/development preferred. ·Proficiency in GIS/CAD and development software ·Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills ·Strong ethics, professionalism, and community-focused mindset ·Ability to pass a post-offer drug test and criminal history check OUR BENEFITS PACKAGE At the City of Kennedale, we value our employees and offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, and future. ·City-Paid Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Short-Term Disability. ·Voluntary insurance options with additional plans like disability, accident, or critical illness. ·2:1 employer match through Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS). ·Paid Time Off – Includes 11 paid holidays, plus paid vacation and sick leave.
