The Human Resources Specialist II is a grant funded position which acts as the Colleges Grant Coordinator and reports directly to the Human Resource Manager for Employee Relations. The person in this position will act as the HR liaison for TSC and other grant funded organizations and will facilitate personnel actions (benefits, time and attendance, Family and Medical Leave Act, position descriptions, payroll, employee relations, hiring, and new employee orientation). This position will assist with monthly grant activity reports and keep grant employees updated on the Colleges activities. Responsibilities

Submit job postings through the online applicant tracking system. Assist the hiring supervisor throughout the process ensuring compliance with TSC/DOE hiring practices, reference checks, and hiring preferences for grant positions. Assist with developing consistent interview questions, offer letter/contract. Responsible for the assembly, distribution and collection of new employee orientation materials including appropriate employee contracts and contract renewals for grant employees. Submit requests for reclassifications, promotions and/or new positions. Process all hires through Workday. Benefits/Time And Attendance

Assist grant employees with completing benefits selections. Redirect employees to appropriate HR benefits staff for retirement, death, disability and other personal insurance/benefits issues. Assist with disseminating information about annual enrollment to grant employees. Provide assistance to grant employees regarding TSC attendance and leave policies, and review leave requests. Assist with the FMLA and ADA process for grant employees. Process benefits and attendance and leave using Workday. TMS / Performance Evaluation

Encourage timely completions of performance evaluations of grant employees, for both probationary and annual evaluations. Assist supervisors with documentation and the evaluation process, including Performance Improvement Plans. Assist management with edits/updates. Employee Relations

Work with Employee Relations for any corrective and/or disciplinary actions, including involuntary terminations. Assist grant management/supervisors with documentation. Assist with documentation for all forms of complaints. Assist in handling unemployment compensation claims. Conduct exit interviews as required. Assist Sponsored Programs

Assist with duties as assigned. Qualifications

A bachelors degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of responsible Human Resources Administration experience. Responsible experience in human resources administration may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education. Why Youll Love Working Here
