Electrician - DLO Experience (Diesel Locomotive Cable)
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join our growing team. The role involves interpreting and understanding electrical schematics to complete electrical assembly and support the mechanical assembly of power generation products. You will work with electrical systems ranging from 110 to 480 volts and engage in daily communication with multiple departments to resolve challenges and enhance processes. Work in a modern, state-of-the-art facility with large bay doors for easy access to enclosures. The position is on the 2nd shift from 4 PM to 2:30 AM, Monday to Friday, with occasional work on Saturdays. Enjoy double-time pay for Sundays and additional pay for overtime after 40 hours. Safety equipment such as steel-toe boots, eye protection, and hearing protection is required. Responsibilities Interpret and understand electrical schematics, including component and symbol recognition. Complete electrical assembly and support mechanical assembly of power generation products. Run and pull wire within enclosures the size of a trailer home. Assemble or build components such as electrical junction boxes, line connections, stop buttons, push buttons, safety switches, outlets, electrical motors, variable frequency drives, PLCs, electrical sub-assemblies, and other electrical elements using standardized work instructions. Utilize a wide variety of power and hand tools, including impact drills, tape measures, and levels. Lift up to 40 pounds throughout the day. Facilitate daily communication with departments including Assembly, Maintenance, Materials, Purchasing, and Engineering to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences. Essential Skills Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics. Experience with electrical troubleshooting and wiring. Knowledge of electrical assembly, construction, and termination testing. Ability to work with voltages up to 480 volts. Five years of experience in blueprint reading and wire running. Familiarity with hand and power tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Understanding of PLC troubleshooting and voltage regulation. Familiarity with industrial environments and construction practices. Experience with DLO (Diesel Locomotive) cable preparation and terminations. Ability to move up through technician levels by mastering terminations, rough-in installations, and DLO prep. Why Work Here?
