Redaptive is expanding its distributed-energy resources (DER) portfolio and seeks a Product Lead to own strategy and execution for Generation & Storage solutions, with a focus on battery-energy storage systems (BESS) and complemented by solar PV and transition technologies such as CHP, linear gensets, and other generation technologies. This role will define Redaptives DER roadmap, underwrite alternative revenue streams through deep power-market analysis, and drive cross-functional delivery from concept to asset management in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This position is based out of our Denver Headquarters under a hybrid work policy. Responsibilities
DER Strategy & Roadmap:
Craft a holistic DER strategy for Redaptive including defining target geographies, target verticals, and attractive project characteristics. Translates strategy into a living product roadmap that aligns technical envelopes, performance standards, and portfolio-level business cases across customer verticals. Maintain and evolve technical documentation to reflect Redaptives latest Generation & Storage offerings. Monitor DER market developments to inform DER Strategy & Roadmap. Revenue-Stream Underwriting & Financial Modeling:
Analyze power-market constructs (e.g., capacity, demand response, ancillary services) and utility tariffs to identify and quantify alternative revenue streams. Partner with Structured Finance to build DR & capacity revenue models, collateral structures, and underwriting guidelines. Evaluate contract structures, including PPAs, lease agreements, and as-a-service models, to identify potential risks and mitigants. Go-to-Market Support:
Develop a market-tested resiliency playbook that positions DER solutions effectively for Redaptives target markets. Work with Go-to-Market, Technical Sales, Engineering, Service Delivery, and Finance teams to translate market needs into scalable DER offerings. Provide technical support to project development, project finance, and credit committees as required. Evaluate and provide input on technical risk-related business terms within contracts, including indemnities, termination rights, performance guarantees, and payment structures. Project & Asset Performance:
Ensure successful project execution by defining and leading the organization towards conversion-rate targets, pipeline health metrics, and end-to-end cycle-time KPIs for DER technologies. Conduct holistic DER performance reviews and recommend asset-management improvements. Required Abilities & Skills
Deep expertise in power-market dynamics, utility-tariff structures, and DER value-stack monetization Entrepreneurial, outcome-oriented, and energized by rapid iteration in a growth-stage environment Proven product-leadership experience with BESS and solar technologies; familiarity with other generation and storage technologies a plus Strong cross-functional leadership with an ability to influence GTM, engineering, operations, and finance teams without direct authority Excellent written and verbal communication with a proven track record of translating technical concepts into executive-level narratives Advanced modeling skills and comfort underwriting merchant and tariff-based cash flows Data-driven mindset with proficiency in Excel Education & Experience
6-10 years in DER product management, utility program design, power-marketing, or related roles Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, Economics, or similar required; MBA or advanced energy-related degree preferred; PE is a plus Track record of launching BESS or solar product across multiple ISOs/RTOs highly valued High level of familiarity with FERC, ISO/RTOs, UL, and IEEE Standards preferred Experience with generation & storage modeling software preferred (e.g., Helioscope, PVBid, PVsyst, Aurora, EnergyToolbase) Salary range:
$150,000 - $185,000 Travel & Work Environment
Up to 20% travel may be required for market engagements, customer visits, and industry conferences This role is based in Denver, CO with a hybrid work model (3 days in-office) Benefits
