Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with experience in distributed microservices and full-stack systems to meet regulatory needs. Stay on top of tech trends, experiment with new technologies, participate in internal and external technology communities, mentor other engineers, and contribute to code reviews or coding as needed. Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that empower millions of customers. Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala; Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases; Docker and Kubernetes; and AWS tools and services. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience does not apply) At least 1 year of cloud computing experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree 7+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks 1+ years of people management experience 2+ years of experience in Agile practices At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization, or provide immigration-related support for this position (e.g., H1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, J-1, TN, E-2, E-3, L-1, O-1, or any EADs). Cambridge, MA: $193,400 - $220,700 for Lead Software Engineer; McLean, VA: $193,400 - $220,700 for Lead Software Engineer; Richmond, VA: $175,800 - $200,700 for Lead Software Engineer. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range for that location. The actual offer will be reflected in the offer letter. This role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation (cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives).
